Alice ALSTON (1901-1991)

Alice ALSTON , 1 daughter of Ignatius ALSTON (1871-1945) and Ann HARDICKER (1872-1931), was born on 10 November 1901 in Preston, Lancashire, England. 2 In 1902 she was resident in Preston, In 1911 she was resident in Preston, 23 Aberdeen St. She married Joseph BREWER in May 1925 (approx.) in St Mary, Penwortham. 3 In 1937 she was resident in Chorley, Lancashire, England, She emigrated from Preston to Cowlchan Valley, BC, Canada in 1954. In 1970 she was resident in Youbou, British Columbia, Canada, She died on 28 June 1991 in British Columbia, Canada.

Passed away in the Colwchan District Hospital, June 28 1991, Alice Brewer. Born in Preston, Lancashire, England in 1901.

Predeceased by her husband Joa and son Arthur in 1970, son Joe in 1983 and two daughters Edna and Jane in 1986.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Marjorie of England; daughter Dorothy and husband of Duncan, son Michael of Duncan and son Brian of S. Lake; many grandchildren and one great grandchild in England.

Alice and her husband came to Canada in 1954 from Preston, Lancashire, England, and settled in Cowlchan Valley in 1957.

Service was held at Sands Funeral chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, B C on Wednesday July 3 1991 at 12:00 noon. Reverend David Saunders officiating, Internment at Mountain View Cemetary.

 

Joseph BREWER 1 was born on 9 December 1902 in Preston. 4 In 1902 he was resident in Preston, In 1911 he was resident in Preston, 2 Rose Fold Penwortham. In 1937 he was resident in Chorley, He emigrated from Preston to Cowlchan Valley in 1954. In 1970 he was resident in Youbou, Golds Park. In 1970 he was a Hotel Janitor. He died of Hemiplesia, Coronary Thrombosis on 1 July 1970 in North Cowichan, British Columbia, Canada. He was buried on 6 July 1970 in Duncan, British Columbia, Canada. He and Alice ALSTON had the following children:

 

Joseph BREWER (1925-1983). Joseph was born on 26 March 1925 in Longton, Preston, Lancashire, England. 5 In 1956 he was resident in Preston, In 1983 he was a Petrol Pump Attendant. In 1983 he was resident in Chorley, 36 Avondale Road. He died of Ischaemic heart disease, Coronary Thrombosis, Pulmonary Infacrct on 25 May 1983 in Preston. 6

Arthur BREWER (1926-1970). Arthur was born on 27 June 1926 in Preston. 7 In 1948 he was resident in Southport, Lancashire, England, In 1952 he was resident in Surrey, England, He died of Myocardial Infarction on 28 April 1970 in New Longton, Lancashire, England. 8

Edna Alicia BREWER (1928-1986). Edna was born on 17 June 1928 in Preston. 9 She married Albert Austin HESKETH in 1952 in Preston. 10 In 1955 she was resident in Preston, In 1986 she was resident in Penwortham, Lancashire, England, 45 Higher Croft. She died of Bronchopneumonia + Coronary artery disease on 8 August 1986 in Preston. 11

Marjorie BREWER

Jeanette BREWER (1932-1986). Jeanette was born on 20 April 1932 in Preston. 12 She married Albert Ernest HALLIWELL in 1951 in Ormskirk Registry Office, Lancashire, England. 13 In 1952 she was resident in Preston, In 1953 she was resident in Ormskirk, Lancashire, England, She died of Acute left ventricular failure, Myocardial fibrosis, Coronary artery atheroma on 20 April 1986 in Ormskirk. 14

Dorothy BREWER (1934-2001). Dorothy was born on 30 April 1934 in Preston. 15 In 1953 she was resident in Blackburn, Lancashire, England, In 1953 she was resident in Croston, Lancashire, England, Black Horse Hotel, Westhead Road.
