Joseph JOLLY (1841-1923)

Joseph JOLLY , ¹ son of Thomas JOLLY (1807-1894) and Ann TOMLINSON (1809?-1859), was born on 9 October 1841 in Wrea Green, Lancashire, England. ² In 1851 he was resident in Treales, Lancashire, England, In 1861 he was an Agricultural Labourer. In 1861 he was resident in Roseacre Road, Treales Roseacre and Wharles, He married Margaret BLAKEY on 14 August 1862 in St John Church, Preston. ³ In 1871 he was a Licensed Victualler. In 1871 he was resident in Wheatsheaf Inn, 50 Water Lane, Preston, He married Ellen FISHER in November 1878 (approx.) in St Paul'sChurch, Preston. ⁴ In 1881 he was resident in Grapes Inn, Ribby with Wray, In 1881 he was a Licensed Victualler. In 1901 he was resident in Old Sanatorium, Blackpool, In 1901 he was a Caretaker. He died on 6 December 1923 in Chorlton, Lancashire, England. ⁵ He was buried in Preston Cemetery.
